As it turns out, being on the internet sure exposes you to strange new stuff.

First of all, I’m sorry for neglecting this blog for the past month and a half. Tumblr got to me, and yes I know I have made vows never to open up an count there, but… most of my fandom is there now, so there’s really no choice in it. Sorry…

Okay, now that that’s done with, new update stuff! Well…

There’s Tumblr…

And college…

And exams…

And me finding new things…

…Did I mention the exams?

College life is… unexplainable. I will only say though that getting myself involved in a play is probably the most fun decision I’ve ever had (even though the main actor forgot his lines on ‘Opening Day’. Improvisation, ahoy!)

The exams though… I’m actually supposed to be studying right now, but procrastination is so much eaaaaaaasierrrrr. From the 9th to the 13th I will have my finals and I am now in a new house brought by my parents where they shall have a kenduri (get-together) tomorrow, halfway across the state from college. Yay priorities!

And as for finding new things, there is alternatehistory.com where people would write absolutely awesome alternate histories about the world and with maps and flags and all sorts of cool stuff. There is also the YouTube Vlogging community where there are tons of awesome people just talking to cameras and yet continue to be awesome and delicious and awesome and… aaaaaahhhhh…. (I have no idea what to say really. Just. Watch. Them.)

Also, I kinda got myself involved in the alternate history shtick.

Hehe. :D

And as for music,

You’re welcome. ;)

IT'S OVER A MONTH AND A HALF.

I'm still here people. My mind isn't. College has finally gone full throttle and I am swamped with assignments and essays every week now.

I haven't been on Fandomsecrets for a while now and I think I'm forgetting just what has happened to that place over the months.

I just want to sleeeeeep....

Another Hari Raya Eid-ul-Fitr come and gone! In all accounts, it wasn’t too bad being cut off from Wifi for almost a week save for a USB drive that I have to plug in when I have the free time (which, to be honest, I had a lot). The villages where our relatives lived looked almost unchanged when we made our customary visits; the houses look the same, the shoplots are the same, the tiny main streets look like as they were before, and so were the winding roads…

…until we got to one of our relatives’ house by the edge of a palm oil plantation.

The palm oil plantation was gone.

I never realized how dark the whole place was until they cut down the old palm oil trees.

Also, we visited another relative who has a job training monkeys to harvest coconuts and keeps them right outside his home. I’ve known about him and his profession since I was a kid but this time I think I should at least get a picture of it so that I could remember what he did when I’m still young.

Also, I managed to find this little gem floating around the whirlpool that is YouTube:

For a comparison, here’s the original theme music: http://i.imgur.com/oKeBIf0.jpg
Um… wow.

Besides that, I managed to make a few more doodles!

And here’s them side by side for comparison

Why yes, I have been listening to Welcome to Night Vale for a while now. Any more questions?

Besides these doodles, when I decided to flip through my Uni notes I found a piece that I have forgotten for quite some time now; almost half a year by my guess.

This was supposed to end up in the large doodle portrait that now hangs by my bedroom door (and quite magnificently, might I add) but the more I looked at it, the more I wasn’t satisfied with the result. I guess that was why I’ve completely forgotten about this piece after I finished making a revised version of it for the bedroom portrait.

And it looks like I have been shipping Italy and Mituna for a bit longer than I thought. Italy and Mituna. What the heck is happening to the world?

Happy Eid!

...Although I'm pretty sure the only people who's going to see this are either future-people or the very rare internet wiki-walker.

Anyways, maaf zahir dan batin, ya?

Well, it looks like fasting for an entire day for the next 29 days DOES make you feel tired and lazy.

My apologies.

Well, fasting month has officially arrived in Malaysia and the streets are once again full of vendors and hawkers selling everything under the evening sun. If I could, I want to photograph them so that I could make another F!S post about it all. Lets just hope my tiredness doesn't take over me entirely then.

In other news, that earlier painting I got from the art fair, I changed it into... something else.
I'll post some pictures up later but I can say that it look a LOT different from the original. My mohher thought it was the most creepiest thing in the history of ever but I couldn't be angry of it because... she's my mother. Also, she tried to calm me down after I missed my English exam.

I got another DIY-paint-it-kit and this time, it's even more daunting as the spaces to paint are really tiny and that my eyesight isn't that good. But I'm trying, though!

Oh, I've also started writing fanfiction. Just so you know.

A few years ago, I bought a large picture frame (like, 50 cm square large) because I liked the stock photo of a flower inside it.

I decided to finally do something about it after seeing it hang emptily on my bedroom wall for the past two years.

I made a doodle. Then another doodle. Then another. And another...

Along the way, I decided to give my Italy/Mituna church sketch another shot.

Here are the results.

Along the way, I managed to juggle my life through Uni and real life, and when I searched through Youtube in my spare time there was a trailer for a Superman ad that lasted about 16 seconds. Just 16 seconds.

It changed everything.

The trailer music was the exact same music that I heard when I watched a documentary about the Exxon Valdez disaster on the History channel. When I first watched that documentary, I became enthralled with the music and tried to find it's maker to no avail. I immediately scrambled to find the music through Superman commercial on Youtube. And I found it.

As I listened, my mind wandered to a commercial that resonated through my childhood. I was a commercial about a company that connects people throughout the globe but the filming lasted for over 5 minutes and it had such beautiful music that I always waited for it to appear again on TV. I wanted to hear it again.

I think I just found out who made that commercial music and the music from the Superman trailer.

When I first began making an account here at Dreamwidth, I never expected that it would result in an F!S'er visiting my country and my sister and I showing her the views!

Over the past few months, she had conversed with me about visiting Malaysia and meeting me someplace in Kuala Lumpur with her friend. As I did not know the roads, I decided to take my more-experienced sister with me to help with the highways as well as my nerves.

What happened next, well... see for yourself

We had the most amazing time over the course of the week! We took a trip to the historical city of Malacca, we visited the parks and waterfalls around the state, we fed some monkeys staright from our bare hands and watched the fireflies along the riverbank, it was awesome. :)

A few photos from the places we visited:

At the Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Gardens.

At a historical park in the city of Malacca (the cross has something to do with Saint Francis Xavier, but I've forgotten about it).

Beautiful historical townhouse.

The Malacca river at dusk (we later took a river cruise. Highly recommended).

We also took a visit to the most sacred places of Hinduism outside of India.

View from the top of the stairs (Was a breeze for us walkers, but if you don't like walking you might get some sore legs. It's like walking up the Great Wall of China, only smaller!).

Gigantic skylight at the end of the cave temple. Seriously, no amount of footage can convey how massive it was.

There were a lot more places that we visited, but posting all the photos here would probably strain the webpage, so I'm going to leave it like it is. My sister and I had the best time with our newfound friends and we hope to see them again sometime soon. :)

Well, it's bound to come up sooner or later. XD

As a person who's in fandoms, I naturally have pairings. However, my choice of people to which I put together wish usually do not go with the thoughts and discussions of the "mains crowd", so to speak. Oh well, at least that's what drawings are for! Or rather, a real-life painting of my crack pairing while I procrastinate on Uni work; but this time, IN REAL PAINT.

Remember the times in F!S when some anon or other made a crack pairing thread and asked us to list out all the pairings?

I took mine a bit too seriously. Reimu Haurei and Karkat Vantas. Yep, I ship it.

There's a better picture of this... but have go through my story first!

You see, earlier this week there was a stall in Uni selling a bunch of DIY painting kits. complete with complimentary paint and brushes. I've tried DIY painting before a few weeks back, to which before that I never knew that such a thing could even exist! After I bought my first kit and painted the... painting, I got an idea that maybe, instead of painting according to the lines and spaces on the canvas, I could:

1) Make a rudimentary sketch of my favorite paing on the canvas and...

2) Paint THAT.

So after a few hours of deliberation (and Uni classes in which I made a redimentar sketch of my pairing) I bought myself a small Doreamon DIY kit and quickly headed for home. Once there, all it took was just copying the sketch on to the canvas and paint over the Doraemon lines. Add in a few hours of lying on the floor and VOILA!

What the painting was supposed to look like:

What I actually painted:

All in all, as the first time (well second) I've ever done something like this, I think it looks pretty good.

Oh the other hand, remember my Italy/Mituna pic that I showed you'all the sketch of a month back?

I gave up.

It's just that trying to design a cathedral was SUPER HARD and I already have limited free time as it is, so... I'm stopping it. Sorry.

I still ship them though, and whenever I think of them, I usually think of this little drabble I made in an F!S thread not too long ago. I could just... imagine... Mituna sitting on a chair or pew, silent as a mouse, watching Italy playing on the piano. And this song, oh my God, this song...

And yes, it's Touhou.

On This Thursday, there shall be a Media Appreciation test and an Introduction to Mass Comm test and I REALLY WISH I DON'T HAVE TO WAKE UP AT 5:49 AM IN THE FRAKKING MORNING JUST BECAUSE THE TEST STARTS AT EIGHT AND THAT THE ROADS ARE JAMMED BY SEVEN.

Uh... thank goodness the day before is an off-day.

Besides that, I've finally made a few acquaintances in my course Tutorial Group! Sadly though, not one of them ever knew of either Touhou, Homestuck, Hetalia, or a combination of all three. They are anime/manga/movie/TV series fans though so it was kinda nice to have a few people to talk to about things in general. Still though... *forever alone*

Aminul, I miss you...

On another note though, I did manage to get a few doodles done! The first one was just a pile of shitscribbles I drew up and thought it looked pretty.

GAH! Just what the heck is that FACE!?

This one was made actually about a week ago. Remember those times when I blabbed about my crossovers all over F!S? Well...

...Yeah.

It's just that... GAH! It's Italy and Mituna and it's all soo wrong but it feels soo... BAH!!

But yeah, I'm already making this into a digital artwork the likes of which I hope would be similar to my Koishi Komeiji and Tavros Nitram pic (another pairing no one has ever heard... ;_; ), but then there's now exams and coming movies and now my Photoshop's acting up weird (why are the pen lines THICKER in some places and NON-EXISTANT in others!?) and all I want right now is just... peace.

I need some music.

al28894: From a wedding (Light nostalgia)
Sometimes I wish that someone out there would build some "imaginafier" that would record our imaginations and show them on TV. I would love to see some of my crossovers in the pixel screen...

Well, it's official. I'm dreading my return to Uni.

I'm going to miss this week's Chinese New Year holidays. It's been quite a while for me t sleep at 2 in the morning and wake up at 10 the next day. Now I wonder if I still have enough time to finish my essay assignments. But it feels so good to just lie in bed anf surf the web mindlessly, reading webcomics and other boring trivia (Go North Aral Sea!)

Oh, and here's some half-completed sketches from the past two weeks at Uni. I can't say these are my best ones I have made, but it's still pretty interesting. Open in new tab to see them in full scale.

Oh, and obligatory Touhou music.

No 1. Has Fandom Secrets gotten meaner since I left?

No 2. Taylors University is BIG.

No 3. I... made a doodle plant study?

Okay. over the past few days, I noticed that Fandom!Secrets has gotten... meaner, from the looks of it. Chardmonster and Noodle are the most surprising, as well as Fingals. Wonder what happened to drive the three of them so differently...

Uni was... nice, to say the least. Orientation was surprisingly fun but ditched the Orientation Party since I wasn't in in the mood. Met a student from Oman and another one from Indonesia. Also, it seems that I have a "Tagalong Kid" who's actually bigger than me and smokes (My mother hates smoking and passes it down to me, though she sometimes makes a leeway for my father and his cigers...). I really don't know how to say to him...

And finally, since I was a little bored after lunch, I drew this:

Think of it as an imaginarty plant study that went out of hand? I regret nothing.

New pics!

To celebrate the new month of the new year, have some hand-drawn pics!

(open them in a new tab to see in full resolution)

And as a bonus, have some music as well!

Since I'm now on a Homestuck binge, it makes sense that I would look up on the internet to see fanart of it as well as some crossovers, mainly of the Bullet Hell type.

Instead, I found nothing. Almost nothing. The two greatest fandoms on the internet and there is barely a smidgern of fanart about both of them. For the first time ever, I am really, really REALLY DISSAPOINTED IN YOU, TOUHOU FANDOM

So I made my own.

al28894: (Default)
Well, due to my old e-mail account being inaccessible (long story that involves some bad decisions on my part), I'm now using a new e-mail address.

On the other hand, more pictures!

I can't believe I didn't post this! I made this three weeks ago and I totally forgot about this place as where to post. Who knew Photoshop smudge tool can be that useful?
al28894: (Drawn gazebo)
I was soo bored today, I made myself a drawing just to make time fly by.
